This blog is dedicated to inform, support, connect and celebrate stay at home mothers.

Mama Bear Matters recognizes mothers who have decided not to work outside the home, in order to devote their full time love and attention to caring for their families.

At Mama Bear Matters, mothers can gather to discuss various matters that are unique to the life of being a full time stay at home mother.

Open-ended discussion questions will be presented after each post to encourage the reader’s involvement.

Below is a poignant statement about the value of homemaking made by Holly Schurter (mother of eight and grandmother of ten) which signifies the values of Mama Bear Matters:

Cultivate the skills, not only of housekeeping, but of making a home for your family. As you know already, they are not always exactly the same. Housekeeping consists of the laundry, the dishes, the toilets, and floors that need to be scrubbed, but homemaking is something else…

Homemaking is the deliberate cultivation of beauty and productivity in family relationships. Homemaking is about helping your family feel loved and comforted. Homemaking is about celebrating each other, and about caring for each other, as well as for your friends and extended families and even the occasional stranger. Anyone can keep house. Not everyone bothers to make a home.

Through Mama Bear Matters, you can join the Stay At Home Mama Bear Mentorship Program. By making connections within this community of like-minded mothers, you can gain a personal mentor, to help support you through your experiences as a stay at home mom. Then, you can serve as a mentor yourself, and guide another stay at home mom through her journey.

If you or anyone you know would like to join the Stay At Home Mama Bear Mentorship Program, please contact mamabearmatters@gmail.com to get connected.

The world of a stay at home mom is incredibly special and distinct. You can relate and connect to others by sharing your very own journey as a stay at home mom.

Khristine Anne is from San Diego, California but she also grew up in Baytown, Texas – you can tell by the bursts of southern accent in her speech! She loves to listen to jazz and sing soulful songs. She enjoys cooking bountiful and healthy meals for her friends and family. To decompress, Khristine Anne enjoys doing yoga, reading motivational blogs, and working on her Mama Bear Matters website to reach out to other stay at home mothers. She has recently been completely transformed and inspired by Montessori principles.

Khristine Anne feels incredibly blessed to be married to her best friend, Randy. Their delight and inspiration comes from their adventurous son, Evan. As a family, they love trying new restaurants and taking long walks together. On any given night, you can find the three of them laying on their living room floor, sharing stories and laughing boisterously.

Khristine Anne’s friends describe her as loving and nurturing, yet she is also known for her sassy and assertive side. She graduated summa cum laude from UCLA (Go Bruins!) and also graduated with honors from the University of San Diego. In her former life, she was a senior corporate paralegal, a happy hour enthusiast and a lover of the nightlife. Khristine Anne has happily traded in her tailored suits to take care of her home and her family exclusively.
