The Eagles

I LOVE THE EAGLES.

(The band, not the football team!)

The Eagles are hands down my favorite music group, ever.

I’ve been fortunate to watch The Eagles in concert and they sound even better live!

Each band member is so talented, every one of them plays several instruments, ranging from acoustic/bass guitar, keyboard, harmonica, percussion, and drums. They’re all wonderful songwriters and each of them are great vocalists, boasting successful solo careers individually.

What was most impressive in their concert was their fan demographics. I watched them in concert when I was in my 20’s and I thought I would be easily one of the younger fans in the crowd, but to my surprise, there were even teenagers there – and they knew all the words to The Eagles’ songs!

It was wonderful to look around The Staples Center and see 4 generations of people, singing the same song. Just another testament to how The Eagles are such a timeless and classic band.

The Eagles’ harmonies are as good as it gets – seamless and perfect.

Go ahead and listen to “Hole In The World“, a song they wrote after 9/11, and you’ll hear exactly what it means to be in perfect harmony.

I also love that they have such a diverse collection of sounds – country, rock, ballad, pop, bluegrass, soul.

Here are some of my favorite songs:

  1. Peaceful Easy Feeling
  2. Take It Easy
  3. Love Will Keep Us Alive
  4. Heartache Tonight
  5. Desperado
  6. New Kid In Town
  7. Life In The Fast Lane
  8. Please Come Home For Christmas
  9. Best Of My Love
  10. I Can’t Tell You Why
  11. Hole In The World
  12. Lyin’ Eyes
  13. Witchy Woman
  14. Victim of Love
  15. Hotel California

Yesterday, my son and I were watching The Eagles Farewell Tour (Live From Melbourne) DVD and we had a blast! Evan’s favorite song was “Heartache Tonight”. We danced and sang for an hour, it was such a great time.

Evan is officially a member of the 5th generation of The Eagles’ fan base. I am one proud mama : )
